Restaurants hurting in Texas due to economy?

My friends own a restaurant and say business is bad, they are coming up short every month for the past 3-4 months. Is there any talks of restaurants not doing well right now due to the economy? The restaurant has been in business for 15 years and is normally very lucrative.

maybe try and get corporate customers instead of individual customers whos money is tight

I am a manager of a restaurant here in Texas.  Sales have been slow, do to rising costs.  Noone has money anymore. Have they tried put coupons in the paper,  that helps us out ALOT!
