we are going to put our puny US$ up against the mighty Euro. Suggestions, please, for "reasonable" (however one might define that) places which deliver good bang for the buck, er, Euro? We are party of nine, and I'm trying to avoid spending the equivalent of one airline ticket a day just to keep body and soul together...we will be close to Vatican in Rome, and close to Greve in Chianti (but going into Firenze probably most days)

mille grazie!

  1. All the good restaurants in Rome are in the Trastaveri district... so they are close together... ask for a recommendation at your hotel.

  2. Am from Florence, remeber, go the oltrarno, is a tipical place (district) wher u can find the originals TRATTORIAs. By the way, very close to the station a friend of mine, "Anita", work in a trattoria very close to the main train station, Trattoria LA MADIA, ask for Anita and ask for a discount, tell her that u r a frien d of Fabio.. Buon appetito..
