Question:

Restaurants near Natural History Museum, London?

Next Thursday, I'm taking my boyfriend to The Natural History Museum, then to the ice rink afterwards.

I'd also like to take him for a meal after skating.

Can anyone advise me of any restaurants nearby?

Good reviews, bad reviews or no reviews, just ideas is what I'm looking for!

Thanks

  1. South Kensington, the area around the tube station, is the home of London's French community so there are lots of excellent restaurants. One good one is Aubaine

  2. there is a nice restaurant in brompton road called patisserie concerto...it is very good and i really recommend it coz of the nice food and mouth watering desserts afterwards...

have a look at their website: www.patisserieconcerto.co.uk

    have a good time

  3. There's sure to be a macdonalds near by- and they have the audacity to call it a restaurant!

  4. CHINATOWN is just around the corner, and some good priced places there?

  5. Depends on your budget.

A very nice restaurant not too far away is Racine

If you want somewhere cheaper you could always go to Carluccio's, just across from South Ken tube

  6. Walk down to South Kensington Station, stand in front of the station looking at the middle cross section of roads  and every street that you see in front of you has restaurants of many different cuisines. They are also not very expensive, so really they choice is up to you, it really depends on what you would like to eat and most of them have got menus up outside so you can check prices. Might be a good idea to scout out the area before the Nat Hist Mus, then pop in and make a booking or take the telephone numbers of the ones you like and call and make a reservation, as they all get quite busy.

Happy Hunting and enjoy your day

  7. nip round the corner to chinatown...

all you can eat for five quid... and its excellent food... rule of thumb is; the more flights of stairs you climb, the cheaper it gets... ground floor, 100 dishes 25 quid...

five flights of stairs and its 40 dishes for 5 quid... and its always full of aussie backpackers and students

  8. The Oratory is a few hundred yards away, toward Knightsbirdge. It's a really nice, and surprisingly cheap, laid back restaurant, nice decor, kind of softly gothy - they do specials like home made fishcakes, lamb cutlets etc. and the main menu has the usual pasta, meat and veggie options as well as steak or chicken sandwiches. The wine is particularly cheap for the area. You'll need to book.

PS Chinatown isn't round the corner - it's about 5 tube stops away.
