  1. Shopsy's is near by, and very good

  2. There are a ton of restaurants in the area since it's in the entertainment district. The Roger's Centre (formerly Skydome...and to me it always will be) is on Front St. just a block north is King St. and a bit further north of there is Queen St. (still within walking distance). All 3 strees are loaded with restaurants as are the north/south running street joining them like Blue Jays Way/Peter St., Simcoe, Duncan, John St., etc. There are a few nice places on Mercer St. as well.

There's everything from high-end to pubs/sports bars, fast food, you name it and it's near by. btw the Panet Hollywood mentioned by someone above is no longer there. If you were more specific about what you're looking for I could be much more specific with a recommendation. Try a couple of the dining sites for the city like:

    http://www.dine.to/index.php or

    http://www.menupalace.com/menupalace/def... or

    http://www.nowtoronto.com/restaurant/ or

http://www.toronto.com/restaurants (I use this one myself on occasion)

Depending on when you'll be here you may want to check out the Winterlicious event - about 100 restaurants have a fixed price menu with w few choices for apps, mains, & dessert and dinner is about $35/person but it allows you to try some high end places without the high-end cost. It's on for the last week of Jan to the first week of Feb. Make Reservations quickly if you're interested - spaces fill up fast.

    Good luck.

  3. Luckily, there are a ton of nice restaurants all around the theatre district. You could just go for a walk and see what looks good, there's a lot crammed into that area.

I really enjoy the Pizza Factory and the Shopsy's near the Hummingbird Centre. There's a Keg and a Jack Astors by Union Station. Marches is in BCE place, and that's really nice as well.

There's a ton out there, I would really suggest going for a walk and checking out the area :). Have fun!

  4. I don't know exactly what type of food you're looking for but here are a few suggestions:

Pub type restaurants:  Wayne Gretzkys (Blue Jay Way/Wellington), Planet Hollywood (Front St).  There are also numerous restaurants on Front st, between University av and Simcoe.

Higher end restuarants:  ByMark or Canoe (Wellington, between Bay st and York st, in the TD Canada Trust tower).  Ki (Bay st/Wellington).

All these restaurants are within walking distance of the Rogers Centre.  If you're driving in on the QEW/Gardiner, get off at the Spadina exit, turn left, and make a right on Front st which is the second set of lights.  All the other street mentioned above are major streets and you shouldn't have a problem finding them by asking anyone.

    Enjoy the show!

  5. There is a Swiss Chalet at Simcoe St, right at the Front doors to the Ramada, up John St there are a number of places, close enough especailly in this weather you can get to and be ack for the event.
