  2. I read this online, hope it helps:

San Salvador, a parish church in Venice Italy, a dynamic and active community, is 500 years old this year. It is visited on a daily basis by groups of simple tourists  and by pilgrims on their way to the many Venetian sacred places.

Thanks to the realization of two projects, the church and bell tower of San Salvador will be literally brought to light. And your support is important. The renovation regards:

-opening  the church tower to the public and making it possible for visitors to enjoy the unbroken view the central position of the tower in Venice offers (it would be the 2nd bell tower in Venice accessible to visitors, after St.Mark's)

-installing a new state-of-the-art illumination system, which will show to better advantage the exquisite paintings, sculptures and architecture of the church (among them, two paintings by Titian).

These two projects have a historic and cultural significance which will undoubtedly  resound among the general public and in the media, nationally and internationally.

Help is needed. Contributions, from the public and especially from commercial organizations, are needed to continue the many ongoing projects  and, in particular, to finance the many possible future activities. All sponsors and financial contributions are given full visibility and recognition on our website and through the media, both national and international.

You can participate by having  a two-year online advertisement banner and link back to your website placed on our website links page  (websites must meet our  standards and terms of use): http://www.venicepixel.com

Photographs of the unique view taken from the church tower will soon be available online in the Italian and English website www.chiesasansalvador.it, now visited by over 30,000 every month.

Starting at the end of February 2007 and continuing through Easter, the Church will hold group study meetings and an art and music exhibition: “Crucifixus”. In order to attract public interest  on these and future cultural events, many continuing far into November, press conferences with national and international newspapers have been scheduled. Sponsors of our projects obtain important media coverage and publicity.

San Salvador, because of the excellence of its acoustics, has also become an “auditorium” for Sacred Music, performed by internationally acclaimed musicians. A music CD will be recorded shortly during the 500th-anniversary church concerts.

All projects, planned and feasible, will be listed and outlined on the website. Their execution and completion depend, in part, on your financial offers and help.
