Restore Old Family Photos & Make Photo Albums on the PC?

Hi everyone! Do you like looking at old Family photos? I'm going thru boxes and boxes of photos and I want to create photo albums to send to our Relatives. We are too far spread out to have a realistic chance at a Family Reunion so sending them to our folks is the only way to share them. Any good software for restoring photos? My other question is how can I get them into a computer quickly? I have a Epson scanner but from what I remermber it will take months to do this with all the photos I have! Any ideas are truly appreciated. Thank you all for any answers.

well a good editing program will be Photoshop CS3

About getting them all in the computer ASAP ..you will probably need to take all your pics to a photo place and have them do it for you ....

Or just use your scanner......it will take a long time but is free
