Restore my laptop to factory settings?

hey guys, i had to reinstall my windows vista-but now im tryin to restore it to factory settings-i've searched online on how to do that but all i find is "click on f8,then when advanced options come up click on repair my computer then i will see-factory settings-then click on it"

ive tried this but when i click on f8 and get to the advanced options screen it doesnt say repair my computer

i've tried putting in the cd it came with to boot from but i see dont see -factory settings-

can someone PLS tell me how to restore my laptop to factory settings-

I have a Dell Studio 1735

  1. your laptop usually comes with the factory restore. If it doesn't you can call Dell and request the factory disc. Its like $8

    If not use a clean windows disc and start from fresh. You'll still have to search for the drivers though.

  2. You have to restart your computer. When the Dell screen comes out (the one with the Dell logo), press F8 a couple of times. And some sort of screen should pop up allowing you to restore to factory settings. But then, that option would have to be already built-in by Dell when you purchased your computer. If your computer didn't come with the restore factory option, you won't be able to do it.
