  1. If you bought this computer from a store, it should have come with CDs that you can use to recover stuff and re-install the OS and drivers. If you dont, you'll have to buy a Vista Home installation CD.

  2. I hope you have a way to at least backup all of your important information and files. If you do or if you dont have to save any data, get your hands on a vista CD and put it in your CD drive and restart the computer. Assuming this works the same way as XP (I have 0 experience with vista) you should be able to boot the CD and do what is called reformatting. This completely swipes your hard drive and reinstalls vista back to how it was when you first got your computer. If you need more help look online for "Vista reformatting tips"

    Good luck

  3. IF your vista was preinstalled, it should have included a 'restore' disk/set OR given you instructions on HOW to make these disks BEFORE you did anything else.

IF so, simply boot to proper opening screen and use the 'reset to factory defaults' or similar setting.

If you don't have these disks, you will need to BUY a new vista set and reinstall from scratch.

BE SURE to copy ANY files you want to keep to an EXTERNAL storage medium BEFORE doing this.  ANY programming you have added will need to be reinstalled AFTER you are done resetting the system.
