Restoring files after formatting?

I had my laptop formatted and I lost all of my files!

is there anyway I can restore them after formatting?

  1. if you mean your harddrive has been formatted than that means everything on your drive was wiped clean.  Chances are extremely slim that someone will be able recover your files.  If they were very valuable files, you should contact a professional data recovery company that specializes in this sort of thing.  But it ain't cheap (we're talking hundreds, if not thousands of $$ to recover your data).  There isn't going to be any simple way of trying to recover the data on a formatted drive by yourself.  That's the whole point of formatting a drive...to wipe out/erase everything on the drive.  Sorry...I know it's not the answer you were wanting to read


  2. Use Acronis Disk Editor or the other related Acronis Product.

    Another one is Partition Magic Recovery (it's a recovery utility).  

  3. Probably your computer formatted but the hard drive didn't, so now, your laptop can't read them.  Try hooking up your hard drive to a different computer and then transfer them, your computer should automatically format your files or tell you a program you have to download.
