Question:

Restricted Internet Acess Using Linksys WRTG54 Wireless Router?

My dad has decided that I shouldnt be allowed to use the internet at certain times during the day, and has found some way to disable it. After checking all my router's configurations (that I could think of) and checking all cords.. I couldnt seem to find how he has done it; the router still shows that it can connect to the internet but my computer only seems to manage Local Access.

I have Administrator access on the Router and am the only one with access to my computer. I know he has done something to the wireless because when I connect the computer to the wired connection (without running it through the router) I can connect.

Anyways, I hope someone can help with this, I'm looking for how hes doing it and/or how I can prevent it.

Cheers

  1. Follow your Dads rules , you may find you have no internet usage at all if you get busted working around him.

  2. firewall settings? idk..just check it anyway..

  3. 1) I think you mean WRT54G

    2) If you try to disable it, your dad might take your internet away for good.

and 3) If you really want to disable the controls, log in to the online settings for the router and somewhere in there should be settings for what times you can get on the internet.
