I am working in a company with about 50 computers. Unfortunately their server jus crashed. They dont want to buy a server as of now. I want to know if there is way to restrict access to certain sites (eg:p**n sites) without a server. They are willing to purchase a good router. Could anyone suggest a good dual wan router which does content filtering.

  1. u can use a proxy server. use some free proxy server program and all users can connect to the internet using this proxy server. So u can restrict access at this proxy server

  2. I don't know about a router, but OpenDNS allows you to block sites.  Check them out at OpenDNS.com.  All the details are there.

  3. You can look at Juniper Networks Netscreen Product or Sonic Wall Product.

By the way a simple Desktop with Linux IPCOP will be able to do this job for you and no need for investing in a Server.
