Restricting rights again?

What are some issues, events, circumstances, cases, etc. where restricting certain rights and freedoms is necessary and beneficial to a society or a person? I'm working on a paper for school where I have to be for the removal of some freedoms to maintain order.

  1. There are many that come to mind which are restricted for various reasons.

    Freedom to speech - Is restricted in certain situations like yelling "Fire" in a crowded theater.

    Eminent Domain takes away a persons private property against their will and gives the property to public use.

    The right to vote is taken away in many states for felons.

    Freedom to assemble is restricted by permits and / or specific areas when it comes to demonstrations and protests.

    Many individual rights are taken away under the guise of for the greater good.

    Ben Franklin said, "Those who surrender essential liberties for the illusion of safety deserve neither safety nor freedom."

    Just like you can't be a little bit pregnant, you can't restrict rights.  

    If they can be restricted, they're not rights, they're privileges.
