If you could round to an amount..how much would a typical dinner for 4 cost at IHOP?

You can get a nice full meal for about 8-10 bucks. If you want a drink, tack on 2 bucks.

So around 40-50 dollar, add a tip of 8 to 10.

Not bad.

If you want cheaper, go to a diner and get breakfast, two eggs over easy with hash browns and toast for 4 bucks.
