There's a place called Vynl on 9th ave,,,good food, great drinks, and funky atmosphere.

Kion - i went there a few months ago.  Peruvian and Japanese fusion.  very yummy and hip atmosphere as well.

if you want great food and reasonable prices and don't care abt being trendy, there are some great places in queens.  Go to Jackson hts for great Indian and South American restaurants and go Astoria for good greek food and cafes.

TAO is really good.  Everything I've eaten there has been yummy however you must get the Tao Shabu Shabu.  Its the best.  Also the desserts are quite good.  Just make sure to make reservations.

'Inoteca on Rivington & Ludow. Be prepared for a 2 hour wait on Friday/Sat. nights though.

Personally, I could never choose. If youre looking for a nice place to lunch, definitely try a place like europa cafe. For dinner, there are many options to choose from. Personally, I love to go down to Little Italy - filled with great restaurants!
