  1. the ones i go to serve Coke or than pepsi...sort of sucks

  2. Generally Coke but not because they always give it for free though they may discount the cost just like any other company would.  There are 2 major reasons:

    1) Generally the servicing of soda fountains are inspected monthly if not more often by coke versus pepsi who generally do not come out as often to service equipment.

    2) If you are going to sell a soda would you rather sell the #1 soda brand or the #2 soda brand?  The #1 helps get a bigger draw typically because people can already identify with a product they like.

  3. coke mostly because coke donates all of there drinks to resturaunts

  4. I notice a lot more places have coke, and it's not free. They just might have cut them a better deal. I used to work for Coke and the fountain sodas, cost the restaurant usually around $35. They make huge profits on soda. A lot more people like Coke, it is the #1 selling beverage, so they pick coke over pepsi.

  5. Coke

  6. i would say coke.  the answer i have been told by most resturants i have worked at is because we have a bar atmophere and guest would rather have a "rum and coke" than a "pepsi and coke"

  7. I have been working in restuarants for 14 years and have never known any that recieve their products for free.  The equipment maintnance is done free of charge so that the customers will get the best quality product. Both pepsi and coke service on a regular basis per costomer requirements and volume. The soda and syrup are seprate items that are generaly supplied by two diffrent vendors. There for constant calibration is required.  As with any buisness the more you buy the less you pay, so there are discounts involved.  The syrup can be supplied by an outside purveyor but pepsi or coke will still service the equipment provided that you sell pepsi or coke.  It is my experiance that sales are roughly 50/50 Pepsi/Coke.  It all depends on who you talk to.
