Vincenzo Montella, the head coach of the AC Fiorentina outfit, has gone on to comment on the match they played against Udinese, and his discontent with the result
The former head coach of Catania has reiterated the importance that the Coppa Italia holds for the Florence outfit, and he has done it on more than one occasion. While talking to the press regarding the issue, he was quoted to have said that all competitions
are important for the club, and being the finalists in the Italian Cup would give them a chance of competing in Europe.
Even though the Italian outfit is currently in the Europa League spots for the upcoming seasons, Montella is not letting anything go to chance and has instilled a winning mentality in the squad. Even when they win, he does not let his team rest on their
laurels and is strict with them and subsequently guides them to achieve victories with more command.
This was exactly the case in their victory over the Udine based outfit, and even though the former caretaker head coach of AS http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Roma-c31603, stated that it was going to be a tough tie, in which his team would have to really apply their concepts to achieve their required
goals; he was happy with the victory but not entirely satisfied. He went on to comment that the Zebrette outfit would be tougher to beat as they were better organised than before. Furthermore, he went on to comment that Guidolin and his men were offensive
in nature, and pressed them hard.
However, despite the attacking fervour with which the home outfit probed, being clinical is what matters, and that is exactly what Fiorentina were. While commenting on their performance, the coach was quoted to have said:
“Let’s just say compared to other games we did not play well, but the desire to get a result was the same. Udinese did well and created scoring opportunities, but we were clinical and I really liked the way the team approached it.”
The victory over the Friulani outfit means that the team would be looking to face AS Roma in the quarter finals of the competition.
