  1. Your resume is average, that is to say generic. Find out what the company wants from a new employee and structure your resume for their needs.

    I was in middle management for 15 yrs. and on the hiring board during that time.  Whenever we had a position open, we would get 250 - 300 applicants.

    First we sorted the resumes based on the applicants ability to be a team member, as we didn't want someone who couldn't work with others.  Next we sorted the resumes surviving the first cut based on what they could do for us. We wanted someone who could bring new innovative ideas.

    If the resumes' didn't cover those two areas, the applicant never made it to the interviews.

    So go find out what the position entails, ask for the company / agencies mission statement, and ask about their plan (vision) for the future. If they don't have those three things written down and defined, they aren't going to grow, and you won't need a resume to get hired.

OK - now I see your resume.  Your resume is coming across presenting you as a doer - rather than an achiever.  You should try an include some numbers in your resume to show what you have achieved, for example:  Doer...Generated office equipment sales in an assigned territory.....   Achiever...  Generated 35% in new business development through....  which led to overall 18% annual growth over goal within territory.   I don't know whether you can say this type of thing but you get the picture.

I used this resume writing service in my area, this is the email address, (resume.help50@yahoo.com) you should try them, it only cost me $35.00 and I got a great job from this new resume, I never thought about the format that they use but the turn around time was less then 24 hrs.  I would have to say it was the best service I have ever used and it was worth every dime.  Also they let me pay through paypal.


  4. I'd recommend putting some numbers in there.  Sales and Account Management are really about generating more sales so I'd find a way to sprinkle some facts in there (e.g. increased revenue in my account by x%; generated $x in revenue).

    Monster used to have sample resumes I'd use to make mine and those seemed to work fine.  I'd also recommend checking out salesguy.org, which has some pages (such as top hiring decision factors) that might help you tailor your resume.
