  1. Take those categories out for sure - don't leave them blank.  No point in advertising what you don't have.  A resume is all about showing off your skills and good points.  And make absolutely sure there are no typos!

  2. There are many forms for resumes.  As an artist, you might consider the following headings:

    Objectives

*Possibly Education(if you have a degree or special academic training)

    Skills

    Achievements

    Work History

Your resume should follow your personal needs rather than the other way around.  Highlight your assets and make no reference to what you may lack.  You might consider a well-written cover letter that "sparkles" with enthusiasm for the job  you are applying for.  I really feel strongly that you need a "portfolio" type of resume that will contain professional photos of you on one side and your cover letter and resume on the other.  As a visual artist, this is the sort of resume I use for myself.  A performing artist's resume should include: education, skills, employment experience and career objectives.  Put Objectives as your first heading if you are lacking in experience.  That way you can present yourself as an exuberant performing artist who is dependable, enthusiastic and ready to work as a team player.

It gives 4 sample resumes for a performing artist and some good advice on how to present yourself to your greatest advantage.  Take your time.  Double check your spelling and maintain your resume with updates so that it is always ready.

Best of luck and hope this helps.

  3. ok, I'm sorry for answering when I'm not sure.

Don't write the headings and then leave them blank. Disclude them or your resume'll look bad

  4. disclude totally.

  5. leave them completely off your resume...no need to advertise something you haven't done. if you haven't had experience...don't apply it to paper. you want to show them what you have accomplished and the experience thru those accomplishments.
