what about hobbies like ballet and pointe, figure skating, singing, violin, guitar, soccer, basketball, drawing, etc can i put on my acting resume?

as far as training, can i put voice lessons, several church plays and several school plays, etc?

if i have sung at 2 graduations, does that also count?

also, in a few weeks, i will be starting drama/acting in high school, does that count?

what do i do if i can't remember all of the names or when they were? some of them were a while back. how far into the past do they count? like how recent do they have to be to be able to put on your resume?

about the headshot, any tips other than getting it professionally done? what do i do as far as clothing and what about make-up? i dont wear any normally, but do i need to wear some in my headshot?

THANKS, i have tons of questions

  1. you could put singing at a graduation for an experience etc... like the more exposure the better the more that you have done the better

you could list figure skating-singing-guitar-etc.. as a performing art to show you do more than acting

  2. For the resume, add all history and info about you, such as, age, height, weight, name, etc.   Acting schools, and past plays.

for your headshot, try to add style, more than one outfit, try hats, no hats, but keep it to a minimum 1 hair style. Try a backround thats interesting and not plain, do not over do the make up, add style and presence. Sexiness, but not borderline S****y. Hope this helps!!!

  3. your last heading should be special skills which includes the highlights of things you do well, in a brief and clear manner.

you can put the dance if you are trained and proficient.  same with the singing, intstruments, and sports.  dont put drawing.  only put what you are really good at.  a good reference point for what to put is to think of what things you could do if you were asked on the spot without expecting it.

for training you should put any voice lessons or dance lessons including the names of the teachers.  if you have taken any special acting classes put those.

school and church plays will not go under training.  you list these under "experience" or "theater", which is your first heading, you list each credit one at a time.

do not put high school stuff that you havent actually done yet.

how far back to go depends on how much you have.  if you have very few credits then you are probably going to want to list everything for now.  as time goes by you will gradually take off the older ones as they get replaced with new credits.

if you have quite a few, take off the oldest ones, UNLESS one of your old one is really great, a well known theater or director or a big role, something like that.  but if you cant remember the names of them chances are they should just be left off entirely.

if you find a professional headshot photographer, they will be able to explain what to do for makeup before your session.  most of them either recommend or require their own professional makeup artist for the shoot.  otherwise they will tell you how to do your makeup and what clothes to bring.
