  1. Find an adult friend who has a knack for photography and have them spend an afternoon shooting your sister in different outfits and locations.

They shouldn't be too "posey" or glam, and she should go light on the make up, accessories and revealing clothing.  They need to be age-appropriate and look like her.

Make sure the majority of the pictures are of her face, from her mid-shoulders or neck up.  That's what the word "headshot" refers to.

Have them shoot at least 120 pix, that way she should get at least four great pics to choose from.  If it's a digital camera, you don't have to pay to have the film developed, just print the ones you like out on photo paper.

  2. I am not sure. I got my headshots done by a friend in the bussiness.

  3. for age 15 and just starting out that's probably ok.  If you can find an aspiring photographer or student photographer, or even google photographers in your area, that would be better.  but for that young age and just starting with smaller more local things a simple shot that is an accurate representation of what you look like is ok.  once she starts getting older and more experienced and more serious about the business, she is going to have to get herself to a major city for a weekend and shell out some bucks, because thats how the industry is going to take you seriously with all the professional competition.
