i am applying for a job as a sales consultant at a development for new construction homes... help... have retail management backround

  1. Try leaving out the objective. They're all so bland and generic.

    Entry level blah blah blah

    Instead, write a good cover letter. You can get a cover letter format just about anywhere.


  2. Since you are applying for a sales job, and since you have previous sales experience, although in another field, I would try to kill two birds with one stone. I would look for a way to show the recruiter that you bring existing sales skills to the job. You will of course enlarge on this later when you cover your retail background in the resume, but why not work it in right at the top of the page where they see it immediately?  

    I would suggest something along these lines:

    "To utilize my proven sales experience in the sale of newly constructed homes."
