Resumption of international cricket in Pakistan should be Zaka http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Ashraf-c46397’s top priority: Waqar Younis – Cricket News Update
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755 has been hit hard by foreign teams not touring the country.
Therefore, Younis has advised the newly appointed Chairman of Pakistan Cricket Board, Zaka Ashraf, to turn all his focus towards the resumption of International cricket in the country.
The former skipper of Men in Green is of the view that the growth of cricket in Pakistan is halted due to lack of exposure for young cricketers, who need to play against foreign teams to gain experience.
Urging PCB chairman to play his part in recommencement of International cricket, Younis said, “Getting foreign teams to tour Pakistan and ensuring resumption of international cricket in the country should be given top priority
by Zaka Ashraf because international games not being played here is hurting our national team and the upcoming players.”
Younis continued, “I fear for the future of Pakistan cricket because you need to have international matches in the country to keep the sport moving forward. Our youngsters are also unable to get proper opportunities to move forward.”
Younis stepped down from Pakistan’s coaching job in September 2011 after a successful tour of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Zimbabwe-c3045. The 39-year-old resigned from his post on account of health problems, as doctors advised him that he needs to be looked after
for the fragmentary liver problem.
Pakistan is still undecided as to who will take over the reins from Younis. For the time being, they have acquired http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Khan-c71319 as the interim coach. Khan is with the squad that is currently in United Arab
Emirates (U.A.E) hosting http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sri-Lanka-c758 for a series comprising of three Tests, five ODI’s and a solitary Twenty20 match.
Younis is also in Abu Dhabi but he is not with the Pakistani team rather the former cricketer is there to share his expert opinion and do commentary for a T.V channel.
Younis presence in Abu Dhabi is contrary to the explanation for which he quit his job. This has raised a few eyebrows and former cricketers think that there is some conspiracy behind this that should be brought forth.
