India completed a remarkable win against South Africa to level the 3 match series 1-1. India won in the end by 87 runs as Lonwabo Tosotsobe was run out to end the unsuccessful South African chase. After being dismissed for just 205 runs in the first innings,
it was an excellent comeback for India. It was Indian bowling line up that came to the rescue at Durban to dismiss South Africa cheaply twice in the test.
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/South-Africa-c757 started the fourth day of the 2nd test needing 192 more runs to win with 7 wickets in hand. Jacque Kallis and AB Devlliers were at the crease when the day started, and the home side would have fancied their chances of getting the
target of 303. However some reckless shots coupled with poor decisions, and some quality bowling by India accounted for the whole batting line up of the home team being sent back with 87 runs still remaining in the chase.
Jacque Kallis was dismissed early in the first session as he attempted to play a wide off the off-stump; the drive was a bit uppish and he edged one to the slips where Sehwag took an easy catch off the bowling of Sreesanth. Kallis scored just 17 runs. The
next man to go was http://www.senore.com/Cricket/AB-de-Villiers-c887; the talented right hander was a bit hard done by the umpire as he was given LBW off the bowling of Harbhajan Singh. De Villiers scored 33 runs when he was given out; the ball clearly looked to be going over the top of the
stumps while there was also the doubt of the ball taking an edge. 111 for 3 became 136 for 5 in no time, and http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750 started smelling victory. The visitors did not have to wait much longer for the next wicket which was yet another dubious decision. Wicketkeeper-batsman,
Mark Boucher, was also given out leg before off the bowling of Zaheer Khan. Boucher had left the ball alone and it clipped his front pad but was clearly heading away from the stumps. But, once again, with no referrals in the test agreed by both captains, the
decision of the Umpire stood and South Africa were 143 for 6.
Ashwell Prince, the left handed batsman held up one end but not much runs were coming, and wickets continued to tumble from the other side. The next man to go was http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Dale-c52110 Steyn; the fast bowler was caught at short leg by Cheteshwar Pujara for just 10 runs.
Left arm off spinner, Paul Harris, did hang around with Ashwell Prince for a while but the pair could not add much runs. After the tea interval, Paul Harris was dismissed quickly; he was bowled over by Zaheer Khan for 7 runs.
Prince had the help of fast bowler, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Ishant-Sharma-c64566 for 20 runs. Last man in, Totsobe,
did not last long as he was run out cleverly by the close in fielder, Pujara. South Africa were dismissed for 215, and India finally completed the win.
India is currently the number one test team in the world and they need to win the final test to retain their top spot. The next match is thus crucial for them and they cannot afford to relax at this point.
