Question:

Retail Fraud in Michigan???

I'm guilty of retail fraud I know. I know stealing is wrong. I stole some sliced deli turkey (worth $2.60) from my local grocery store in Michigan. I didn't have enough money to pay for it so I stuck the turkey in with some other meat I had. This was 9 days ago (on 7-11). I haven't been caught yet and I've been back in the store about 5 or 6 times since then. I'm 20 and this would be my first offense. My question is am I going to get caught and if I do what will happen to me?

  1. Forget about it....

Have you checked with the "Family Independence Agency" in your county, if you are low income you may be eligible for food stamps, I know that sounds horrible, but they give you a card just like a credit or debit card and credit it every month so your not handing "stamps" to the cashier

  2. If they didn't say anything when it was done, they can't do anything now, because they will have no proof. If they knew you did it they would have said something when you left with it, or when you had gone back, seeing as they haven't said anything to you, you're in the clear.

If for some reason they find out, you'll probably just have to pay them back, but since it was only a few dollars they probably won't try to take you to court over it.
