so i lost my retainer three weeks ago in my aunts car, they found it the other day i was wondering bc it was sitting no case protecting it or anything is there a chance that the metal bands could have shifted due to people walking over it or the heat melting it?

  1. If you try to put it in it will hurt really bad and you'll want to take it out.  But if it's only been three weeks, then maybe it won't be such a big deal.

However, it sounds like it could have warped from the heat, etc.  You should bring it to your orthodontist and have them look at it.

  2. Yes your teeth have probably shifted also already.  Best thing to do is go and get another one made.  I guess I would try to clean it up and see how it fits but if it doesn't fit correctly then go back to your orthodontist.

  3. There is a high possibility that the retainers may have shifted.

The metal could have warped in the heat of the car and movements of people [like dropping a pile of papers/books/clothes on it] could damage it as well.

I think your best option would be to head to the orthodontist and ask them for more advice.

I hope this helped a little.

  4. I Think Its Alot Safer If You Just Go To The Dentist :] Please Do That Instead Of Cutting Your Tongue Off

  5. within 3 weeks you should of been back to the orthodontist and had a new one..
