Retainer question?????

When you get your braces off, do they give you your retainer the same day or do you have to come back like a week later to get it? I'm getting my braces off soon and was wondering. I don't really want my teeth to get crooked in the amount of time I don't have a retainer.

depends on your orthodontist mine gave me mine on the same day I got them off but my friend had to wait a week

I got my retainers two days after.

They made models when they got my braces off... so it takes a few days.

I got my retainer the same day my braces came off.

usually when you get your braces off your dentist asks you to come back the next day or as soon as you can. But don't worry. your teeth will not move over night, and if they do move it will only be a little bit... nothing your retainer can't fix. It's encouraged to wear your retainer everyday for the first 6 months because that is when your teeth are most vulnerable, but after that you can wear them just at night.

when they take your braces off they mould your new teeth with that disgusting putty stuff

then they make your retainer for you and you come back and get it a week later

it hurts sooo much though
