Question:

Retainer somewhat broken help!

the retainer fell out into my couch. I found it but a little bit of plastic was chipped from the side (the back teeth). The front wire is bent out of shape so that the retainer does not fit into my mouth. The rest of it is fine. I am going to the ortho tomorrow. Will I have to get a new one?

  1. my ortho will pay for it the first time but after that you pay

  2. well i had a sorta same situation.

if its broken in a place that commonly breaks then they might have to make you a new one but might not charge you for it. or if its fixable they will just put some "retainer goo" and put the plastic together and try to rebend the wire. but the way it seems like you broke it you will probably have to get a new one. either way whether you have to have it fixed or just a new one you wont have it for like 2 or 3 weeks.

    hope i helped.

retainers are pesky little things arent they ?
