Retainers????????????????

Question

So i have two questions.

1. I am absolutely through with metal retainers because i have had two of them, and both broke when i took them out of my mouth. Anyways, as i remember my orthodontist gave me two options, permanent and removable. but he x'd out the clear retainer. So i was wondering, does every orthodontist have the clear retainer?

2. My bottom permanent retainer, has become lose, since the little white things that hold it on each tooth has dissapeared when i ate an apple. If i go to the orthodontist...will he charge me for a new bottom retainer or can he just repair it by putting the white things back on and charge it differently?

1. I use the clear retainers. In my opinion, they are much more better.

2. I think he can just repair..

He will either charge you for a new one, or charge to fix the old. It would probably be worth it to just get a new one.

I'd try going to another Orthodontist and get the clear (invisible) retainers. They'll charge an extra fee cause your not a patient, but they are great!
