took the SAT lit test in june and i did not study for it AT ALL, got a 480. sucks, i know. should i retake it in the fall? i will definitely study for it this time. i want to apply to UC berkeley, UCLA, SUNY stony brook and SUNY binghamton. is this a really extremely bad score, especially for the UC's? i also got a 610 for math 2 and 650 for chemistry. i got a 1790 on my SAT I's. do they like improvement on ur subject tests? i was thinking about taking the US history one because im really good at it in school

  1. i think your scores are a bit dangerous for UC berkeley and UCLA

not trying to be mean here but you definitely need to raise that 1790 to at least 2000 (even 2100) in order to be even considered as a potential applicant

also for SAT IIs, they want to see 700s, so these are maybe things for you to think about

    -good lUCK!

  2. yeah you should probably retake it. i know you have to specifically ask for them to submit SAT IIs, but idk if they send in all of them, including the lowest. schools dont really look for improvement i dont think, in terms of SAT I scores, because they take the highest scores you have from each section of the test and give you the highest possible that you've scored. while your other subject test scores arent fantastic, they're decent. depends, UCs, at least the ones you've mentioned are really hard to get into and are prestigious, especially if you're out of state. so if you're applying in-state it might be easier to get in. no harm trying US history, you dont have to send the score in if you do really badly.

    best of luck
