Question:

Retaking a GCSE?

I just did my I.T GCSE which is the last time I will ever do it and is the real thing.

Afterwards I noticed I did foundation but I clearly asked to do Higher, now my paper says foundation too so I am to be blamed for not speaking about it earlier but I was so confident it was Higher I never bothered to look.

Is there ANY way I could resit this exam before the results are given? As to replace the test I did on foundation since it was too easy and caps my top mark to a B?

Many thanks in advance!

  1. Nope I don't think you can since you actually were meant to check before the exam (oh the memories)

As someone before rightly said, G.C.S.E.'s dont really mean much anymore except for your school to know if you'll be right for the A level course. And most A level courses let you on if you've got a B or higher anyway. Don't worry about it :)

  2. Unfortunately no. This could only have been altered at the start of the exam. And people who say GCSE's aren't important are completely wrong a high grade in any subject looks good for college(s) and Universities and potential employers. And it will help you too. People don't just look at A-Level grades! They look at your GCSE grades too! Especially  English and maths.

You might not be able to get a 'B'. Because you sat the 'Foundation tier' which only ranges from G-C and 'higher' which is D-A*.

  3. No soz to be the one to say, but you wont be able to sit it again, you were meant to say before started the exam.

at the end of the day they wont be looking at the grade they will mainly be looking to see if you got a GCSE in it so it will be seen as a qualification ( i think )

  4. i don't think so but you should definately ask a teacher about it.

I'm pretty sure though it will count as you fault as they ask you to check you have the right paper before you start.

ne ways A levels are the ones that reeli count random B and gcse's means nothing
