Question:

Retaking your license photo in Ontario?

I got my G1 picture taken about 3 years ago and when I look at the picture now it's probably THE worst picture ever taken and it doesn't even look like me anymore (I've changed my hair, don't wear glasses anymore) and it's just such an unflattering photo!

I got my G2 last August without a photo retake (which I didn't understand...) I'm turning 19 at the end of this month and everyone tells me there's no way I can get into bars with my G2 photo because it looks nothing like me.

I really want to get my photo retaken. Does anyone know if I can get a new license photo? Do I just go into a driving center and as for a retake or just pull a lie out of my butt and say that I lost my license and need a new one? What's the best excuse to give to get a new picture and does anyone know how much it costs??

  1. i got my picture retaken the other day. it's 10 dollars for a new card.

and i simply said "ew, i look horrible in this one, i need a new one"

  2. Unless you've actually been turned away from a bar, I wouldn't bother.  Most bartenders don't really care.  You'll have no problem getting in.

But if you really want to, just say you want a new photo.   If you say you lost it, they can retrieve your photo from the computer and print you a new license.
