  1. I broke my neck and back when I was 24 but, with brilliant surgeons, Cmdrs. Fulford and Telford, I kept going until I was 58. Then I got real slow so now I make sure that I work at something, anything, for at least 2 hours a day and I make a point of always learning something new. I went to art school, for example, to do an art foundation course. I do photography, painting, writing, carpentry, and so on. If you retire and stop, you die:-) Use it and abuse whilst you still have time.

  2. Yes, retired early and enjoying grandkids to help out  their parents with daycare expense. In other words I'm babysitting, and love it! It also included a move to another state, going from owning home to town house.  Easy move. Just threw out stuff and picked up new.

  3. I retired after 35 years as a teacher.  I'm enjoying myself by tinkering, traveling, reading and visiting people I didn't get to see often.

  4. Retired!?!?! Good for you!

I think by the time I reach that age the word won't even exist in the dictionary.  You should go cruising not surfing. lol

  5. Hello,

We are getting ready for my Mr. to retire. Not long to go!!

He is a little worried for he feels he will be real board.

I keep telling him he will find things to do with himself.

My mother has not retired yet, she is in her 70's. When the school she taught at was going to make her it almost devastated her, she got to stay at her teaching job. Start hobbies or whatever now. This is what we are going with Mr.

    Good luck!

  6. I'm 65... been retired since age 49. I spend my days either fishing or writing.
