Lokomotiv Moscow newbie, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Reto-Ziegler-c30895, has defended his decision to join the Moscow-based club, stating that Slaven Bilic wanted him to make history with the ambitious Russian outfit after winning their third Russian Premier League
title this season.
The 26-year-old left winger completed a move to the Railroaders on a season long loan spell from Juventus FC.
“We were looking for a player to strengthen defence and we found a prolific left-back.  Ziegler is a type of player that meets our specifications. The Swiss national can play both in defence and in midfield region, which will increase
competition in our team.” The official website of the club said.
The former Tottenham Hotspur man joined the Moscow-based club, after following in the footstep of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Maicon-c23157 and Dario Kresic this summer.
If speculations are to be believed, Benfica SL and Rubin Kazan failed in their quest to sign the prolific player on the transfer deadline day. Ziegler revealed that he changed his mind after talking to Railroaders newly appointed
head coach, Bilic.
The Croatian manager replaced Jose Couceiro at the helm after the Moscow-based club failed to secure European berth last season.
“A long conversation with Bilic impressed me.  I realized that the coach is really interested in me as he truly wanted me to help this team. The coach knows my strengths and has a firm belief in me. I am happy that I will play
for Lokomotiv. This is a decent Russian club with great history.” The Turkish Cup winner was quoted as saying.
Ziegler went on to express his desire to play alongside famous players like Roman Pavlyuchenko, Corluka and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Felipe-Caicedo-c13525, insisting that he is excited to assist the wonderful players.
When asked about whether he still has a future with the Old Lady, Ziegler said that he is not thinking about returning to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Italy-c2926 after falling out with manager, Antonio Conte.
The former Wigan Athletic player is in contention to start Saturday’s league meeting against Rubin Kazan at home.
