Question:

Retro-active exoneration?

On the classic TV series "The Fugitive" the protagonist is eventually cleared of the crime that he was wrongfully convicted of (murder and flight to avoid execution) Would those who helped him on his years on the run, many of whom were charged with aiding and abetting, also be eligible for exoneration?

  1. Aiding and abetting a fugitive is still a crime, even if the fugitive is later found not guilty.

Those helping him while he was on the run were breaking the law, imho.

However, they would tend to be exonerated anyway.  Common sense usually prevails in this type of legal conundrum.
