Retting modem password?

Question

Will resetting my modem reset its configurations and its password, and will it reset my linksys router?

Can i reset the modem without resetting routers settings?

Is there also a modem password recovery software i can use?

By "reseting" if you mean simply turning it off and back on, your settings should remain intact because you have installed the software for that device on your computer, and thats where all settings are stored. (to view them normally it's http://192.168.0.1/ and username and password etc)

dont ever think about it pressing that little button without reading your manual for that router. maybe that is the button for "default factory reset", pressing the dafault factory reset will delete all your customize settings/configurations...

Remember, power it off may reset your router... Just in case your manual is already gone, and you cant find where is the right button for turning off your router, by simply pulling out the power plug in the power outlet is the best solution hehehe...
