hi everybody. this year at my school we are starting a student government and i am interested in trying out for the environmant comitee. so today i was trying to think of ideas when it came across my mind some cans etc say on the side return for refund where applicable. i jsut have some questions aobut it

- i know you can return soda pop cans, but what else you may bring to school?

- where can you return them (grogery stores? like loblaws, dominion? what about walmart? where else common?)

- how much money approximately do you get each item?

- overall, do you think my idea would work?

FYI i am in 7th grade

do you have any other ideas for the environ, mant comitee?

  1. Usually "where applicable" refers to deposits that some states put on bottles and cans (meaning for the consumer to buy the product they have to pay X cents per every bottle, and when they return the bottles they get the X cents back). I assume you live in a state that does not have one of these programs.  Recycling programs in other states still exist though, I recommend contacting your local government, or maybe even state government to view options. Odds are the financial return will be really low, but recycling programs should are about reusing resources instead of making profit so that is reasonable.

  2. it is the government that has to charge every thing to make recycling affordable. In Europe it is becoming more common
