Return pmt fee?

So I received my Credit Card bill, on it was a return PMT (payment) fee which I don't understand I had enough money to cover it and both the payment, return PMT fee where on the same day as if the company charged me but the payment didn't go through and charged me again which that time it did go through. So to the people who have gotten a return PMT fee on their bill is it normal for it to be on the exact same day as when they recevied the payment or is this something weird maybe a mistake and I should try to dispute?

  1. it may just be a computer glitch.  i do customer service for a bank and i take calls like this everyday.  it will be very easy for someone in a bank call center to review ur account and see exactly what happened, especially if you used ur check card to pay the CC bill.  Was it debit, or an electronic payment, or a check?  The bank can look in your account and see what your balance was when the CC presented that item for payment and why the payment was rejected and sent back to the CC company, and then they can confirm that payment was presented again and then cleared your funds from the bank.  If the bank sees that you had sufficient funds the first time the item was presented, you can have them send you proof to validate that, and then you can ask the CC company for a refund of that returned item fee.
