Return policy ?

Question

so i want to get my friend a present, but he lives in a different city and state than i do. in case he would want to return his gift for whatever reason, would the same store where i bought the present in california allow him to return it with a receipt?

i.e. i buy sneakers at a Vans retail store in California, and i send them to my friend in NY. can he return them at a Vans retail store in NY with the receipt?

im really confused if return policy applies to out of state locations.

It depends on the store. I would ask them at the store they should be able to tell you.

If you deal with Vans wouldn't the best place to receive proper information be Vans where you bought or will buy the sneakers ? Think a bit.
