Returning Efrain Escudero to fight against Jacob Volkmann at UFC 141 – UFC News
American mixed martial art (MMA) fighters, Efrain Escudero and Jacob Volkmann will be fighting at UFC 141 in December 2011. The event which is produced by the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), will take place on December 30,
2011 in Las Vegas. The 25-year-old Escudero made his UFC debut in December 2008 at The Ultimate Fighter event and won the lightweight title. He took a hiatus from UFC when he last fought for the promotion in September 2010.
According to the UFC officials, Escudero would be making his return back into the UFC octagon when UFC 141 takes place with Volkmann being the fighter with the upper hand into the fight. The 31-year-old Volkmann has lost only two
fights in his MMA professional career. He has won thirteen bouts and lost two on the other hand, Escudero has won eighteen bouts and lost three. For Escudero, although he has won more bouts, but Volkmann has a much better winning streak in his MMA and UFC career.
Volkmann have had a nine straight winning streak which was followed by two losses and then enjoyed four consecutive wins.
T.J Grant was initially placed against Volkmann at UFC 141. But after Grant sustained an injury, a replacement was being sorted out by the UFC. They finally got the replacement in the form of Escudero. The UFC officials on December
6, 2011 announced that both the fighters have agreed to the match on a verbal basis.  Volkmann has been a rising fighter in the MMA division as well as in the UFC circuit.
Both fighters would be looking to get a win at UFC 141 which would boost their MMA career further ahead. Volkmann would be in form and would give his best shot in the bout for he has been in the UFC. On the other hand, Escudero
last fought inside the UFC ring in September 2010. He would be in to form as far as his MMA side is concerned, but he might now be in the best of his forms while fighting inside the UFC ring.
Their bout would be an interesting one. Talking about his return to UFC, Escudero said, “My foot was already in the door. I had to keep it in there, stay busy, keep winning and prove (myself) to them by giving good fights and being
a good fighter. I think the biggest thing was me staying active. In one year, I racked up seven fights. That's saying something to the UFC.”
