Question:

Returning a used Target.com purchase to a Target store?

Has anyone returned a "used" Target.com purchase to a Target store? I think the item is defective. I have the receipt.

I believe Target's written policy (both store and online) is to only accept returns of "new" items.

I know Target stores don't follow this policy and will accept the return of used, defective items. So I was wondering if Target stores will accept the return of a defective item purchased from Target.com, or if they strictly follow the policy when it comes to Target.com purchases.

  1. I have done this ,I explained to them the item was defective and I had the receipt, all I wanted  was  a exchange for it and they had took care of it, i don't know if they'll return it for cash, but they should exchange it out for you/

  2. Yes they absolutely will. If the item is defective it does not need to be new to return it. All Target products are under warranty for 90 days so you can always return them if they break within that time period (providing you have the recipt and packaging...). You will have an option of exchanging the item if they even carry it in store or getting a refund.

  3. They'll probably give you an exchange since it's defective.
