Manchester City
Manchester City Boss is at a loss to explain his injury-prone defender, Wayne Bridge’s present injury situation. The veteran English left back of Manchester City has struggled with niggling knocks throughout this season and failed
to show consistency in his play. Recently, Wayne Bridge sustained an injury on Tuesday in Manchester City’s training session after only playing 20 minutes.
The Italian boss of the Citizens admits the situation has left him frustrated, with the defender of little use to him as he is incapable of steering clear of the treatment table.
Roberto Mancini said it is almost now impossible for Wayne Bridge to perform after being out due to injury in the majority of the season. Wayne Bridge started against Salzburg in Europa League fixture and was injured after 70 minutes.
The 30-year old played in Poznan and was only able to perform for 60 minutes. Along with that, Wayne also started against Blackpool and once again he ended up sustaining an injury after the first half.
Manchester City are currently placed fourth in the Barclays Premier League with 29 points to their name out of 15 league matches. Manchester City are only three points short of second position in the table and five points less
than the new Premier League table leaders, Manchester United.
The Citizens have also qualified for the knock-out stage of the Europa League by defeating Salzburg by 3-0.
Manchester City who are fourth in the table, will host the Bolton Wanderers who are sixth in the table for the sixteenth Premier League match on Saturday.
Manchester United
Manchester United’s legendary manager, Sir Alex Ferguson was angry with the fashion in which the Red Devils conceded four goals in their disappointing defeat against West Ham United in quarter-final of Carling Cup. West Ham United
also ended Manchester United’s 29-match unbeaten streak. Moreover, it is the first since 1970 West Ham United has defeated Manchester United by four goals or more. The Hammers had an early goal correctly ruled offside, but they were incensed and Sir Alex felt
the perceived sense of injustice provided inspiration.
The Red Devils Managers said his team gave away goals too softly and was not expecting such a performance from his young guns.
Moreover he added:  “We had one or two half chances and Gabriel Obertan had a shot saved by the goalkeeper (Robert Green) which then hit the post. The goals killed it. You can't just give goals away at this level. That first goal
was a break for them. We were in control in the early part, played some good football. But goals change games. The thing that sparked it was the goal that was disallowed because it got the crowd up. It was clearly offside because it came off one of their players
into the net. It was clearly offside but they celebrated for so long. It spurred them up."
This weekend’s Manchester United’s match against Blackpool at Bloomfield Road has been postponed due to severe weather conditions. However, this will surely give a chance to Manchester United’s league rivals; Arsenal and Chelsea,
to top the table for some time. Both Arsenal and Chelsea are only two points short of Manchester United and a win this weekend would see them as the table leaders.
Newcastle United
Newcastle United will be without the services of their talismanic shadow striker Kevin Nolan for the next match against West Bromwich Albion. Nolan, who has been suffering with an ankle injury, also missed last week’s Newcastle
draw against Chelsea.
However, Newcastle United will be boosted by the return of their in-form midfielder Joey Barton, who completed his three match suspension last week for getting a straight red card.
