Review of the News: Tottenham Hotspurs, West Bromwich Albion and West Ham United
Tottenham Hotspurs:
Spurs assistant manager is confident his team’s squad has enough depth to handle with the loss of their talismanic midfielder, who has been ruled out for three months after sustaining an injury. The decision to go under the knife came
following an extensive consultation period and will rule the Tom Huddlestone out of key European fixtures. The assistant manager of Spurs confessed the loss of Tom was a blow but was confident the depth of the squad could cover his absence.
Bond said: "It looks like he's going to have to have a little clean-out of the ankle and it looks like he's going to be out for some time. He's been excellent for us for some time now, but that's what we've got the squad for.
Jermaine Jenas played central midfield on Saturday and was brilliant, so we've got a squad of players and they've all got to play their part. They'll certainly have to do that because we'll be without Tom for a good while."
Tottenham Hotspurs will visit their fierce rivals Arsenal in a highly contested Premier League derby match this Saturday. Spurs are on seventh position with 19 points to their name.
West Bromwich Albion:
After a bright start newly-promoted West Bromwich Albion has taken just one point out of a possible 12 and manager Roberto Di Matteo said: "It is disappointing. It has been a tough week for us. But we always knew it was going
to be a long hard road until the end of the season. We will try to lift ourselves and win the next game (against Stoke). It is very tight in the league. Anyone can beat anyone and I think it will be like this until the end of the season."
West Bromwich Albion is one of the promoted teams of Barclays Premier League and has been very impressive so far. They even managed to defeat Arsenal at Emirates in this short stint of 13 matches. They are currently sitting on 12 points
sharing equal 16 points with Liverpool.
West Ham United:
The vice-chairman claims there is no panic at Upton Park for their new manager Grant despite the club's unwarrantable position at the bottom of the Barclays Premier League. Avram Grant’s men are currently battling relegation battle with
one 9 points and are sitting on the bottom of the table. They have managed a single win out of 13 matches, which is their worst performance in the start of any season in recent history but Brady is resolute that there is no pressure on their new manager.
The vice-chairman of West Ham United said: "When you make a very big and important decision to replace a manager you have to take a lot of things into account. We thought very carefully when we appointed Avram and I can assure
you there is no finger on the button. We are not getting results and the table does not lie but we will do everything in our power to support him (Grant). We just all have to hold our nerve. We have to believe in the people at the top - we put them there.
We have to give him space and time."
West Ham United will visit Anfield on Saturday to face Liverpool for the 14th Barclays Premier League fixture.
