I've talked to a few civilians working here in Iraq and they all seem to be happy with it.  Long hours depending on the job, but good pay.  If you don't mind being stuck half a world away for a year, I'd recommend it.

really hot can be fun depending at were you are camped.  was at a little city their built with about 30,000 people including soldiers so it wasn't bad
