Reviews on Wicked (broadway)?

I'm going to New York next week and while I'm there we are going to go see Wicked. What are your thoughts on it? Any better than Phantom?

It's a great show, but good luck on getting tickets. The only ways that aren't really expensive are lotto ( Each day, two hours prior to show time (11:30 AM for 2 PM matinees; 12:30 PM for 3 PM matinees; 4:30 PM for 7 PM performances; 5:30 PM for 8 PM performances), people who present themselves at the Gershwin Theater box office will have their names placed in a hat. Thirty minutes later, names will be drawn for 28 front-row seats at $26.50 each. This lottery is available only in-person at the box office, with a limit of 2 tickets per person, cash only. Photo-ID. ) and cancellation line. Good luck on getting tickets and enjoy the city!

Wicked is a great show, but it's personal opinion if it's better than Phantom.

Wicked is an amazing phenomenon. It is, at the least, on the same level as Phantom. At most its better.

The beauty of Wicked is how it takes the story we presume we all know, The Wizard of Oz, and shows us a whole new side. Its an amazing feeling to see your preconceptions defied.

The music is wonderful, with impeccable lyrics. The show blends the poignant with the humorous, to create a witty and wry humor under the surface.
