What are your opinions on the new The Academy Is... record "fast Times At Barrington High"? what is your favorite song? least favorite? how does it compare to Santi and Almost here to you?

My favorite song is the test, his girl friday, about a girl, summer hair=forever young. I think its their best album

I love all their albums equally. They all just have a different view of the band, this one kinda gave me a 'end of school/first days of summer' feel to the album. I love it. My favorite songs are Paper Chase, Automatic Eyes, Rumored Nights, Summer Hair = Forever Young, and Beware! Cougar! Hmm..... Least favorite... Probably His Girl Friday. It's not that I don't like it, it's just not as good as the others in my opinion.

Santi and Almost Here, like I said, measure up the same to Fast Times for me. Almost Here was an amazing debut album and Santi was a stellar follow up. But I do have to agree with The Butcher, this album did blow my mind. =)

I don't know...I bought it impulsively the day it came out. I don't own any of their other CDs but I've heard some of their other songs, and I think I like their old music better.

I think the band's sound is cool the way they switched it up. But the lyrics bug me. I'm not a prude, but it got to the point where it wasn't poetic at all. Just stupidness. I'm not asking that they write songs that I could listen to in front of my grandparents. Just less of the stupidness.

Alright.

Almost Here was an amzing cd, and Santi did the impossble by being better than it. Of course all cd's have their ups and downs, but Santi was pretty much all ups :)

When I heard the single "About a girl" i was shocked. It wasso much different than the academy is... that I knew. It was so much more poppy, and sounded very similar to other bands. The TAI I knew had a distinct sound, but now they can be easily mixed up for some pop c**p. The cd is good, don't get me wrong. But it is so different, and much more pop, that its very hard to adjust to, if you are a big TAI fan. My favorite song: The Test or His Girl Friday
