The future of the National Rugby League (NRL) games in 2012, have undergone a number of changes, which are aimed to improve on the existing level of the games played in Australia.
Before Toyota NRL Dream Team is released on January 25, this update on the revised set of rules is very important.
There is a major change in the point-system that will be taken up in the future games, whose revised rules will bring in the significant returns to the NRL's game-breakers.
The new updates in the points system have included additional points for one-on-one tackles along with some amendments made to the existing points scored.
As per the latest point-system in 2012, each NRL game will be scored a little differently. A try will score 8 points, goal with 2 points, field goal will gain 5 points, tackle break will score 3 points, line break 4 points, 40/20 is for 4 points, try assist
with 5 points, offload  will have 2 points, line break assist will be handed out 2 points, tackle will score a single point, one-on-one tackle will attribute a single point, ineffective tackle will result in minus one deduction, missed tackle  will be penalised
with 2 points deductions, run metres are now given out a 1 point per 10 metres, whereas for  kick metres  1 point per 20 metres will be gained.
Also, in case of penalty acknowledged, a couple of points will be deducted, where as the error will result in 3 points’ take away. The Sin-bin and send-off will have a net 5-point and 10-point cut, respectively.
It is very important for the NRL players to get themselves acquainted to the new set of rules in the points scoring system which will be featured in the future games of Australian side from 2012 onwards.
With this revision made, not only the scoring will speed up but it is now also shift focus on the penalties that will be awarded during the course of the game.
The changes introduced are not only restricted to the point-system alone. A few other areas are also touched, including the structure of team, the usage of the social networking websites, and tweaking the flexibility of the game.
