  1. GOOD LUCK WITH THAT!!

  2. The Schofield that Biker is talking about is made by Uberti and costs about $900

    Comes it .45 and .38

There are some Belgian copies of the old Smith #3 American floating around but they cost more than they're worth now

There were also some repros of Smith & Wesson Russians

All run near or way over the $1000 range

  3. by being broken down, i must assume you mean a break top revolver. the only one being made i know of at this time is the schofield 44 s&w replica.. sorry, i don't know the manufacturer. break top revolvers are a rare bird these days. you might find a used enfield pistol. if you shop around the gun shows.

hopkins and allen, harrington and richardson, smith and wesson once all made break tops, but the design was a weak one, which is why few are made these days.

  4. I own a Ruger Redhawk in .44 Mag and i love it. It is a little older but it shoots great. My father owns a .357 mag Smith and Wesson and It shoots as good as he can. Look for a good buy and don't stress over brand. Chances are you will end up with either a Ruger or S&W. Good Luck.

  5. I am not sure what you mean.

Do you mean a top-break revolver like this?

top breaks are cool in a kind of retro way I suppose, but only cowboy re-enactors are really interested in them, as more modern swing out cylinder guns are so much stronger and more reliable.  But to each his own, if you like that style best, and are willing to live with the shortcommings, go for it.

Oh, I guess a lot of kids who watch animie movies and don't understand guns seem to like top-break revolvers.
