Reward money for Lorenzen Wright’s murder goes up to $21000: NBA Update
With the contribution of the NBA franchise Memphis Grizzlies and State of Tennessee, the reward for the information involving the murder of University of Memphis standout, Lorenzen Wright has gone up to 21 thousand dollars.
That state of Tennessee has decided to contribute ten thousand dollars to solve the mystery of Lorenzen’s death while Memphis Grizzles will contribute five thousand dollars more on top of $5000 that has already been approved by
the City Council of Memphis. The Crime Stoppers are also helping Wright’s mother Deborah Marion with a contribution of one thousand dollars.
The development took place after the county District Attorney, Amy Weirich sent a letter to the Governor Bill Haslam, exactly one year after Lorenzen Wright’s body was found and asked for a donation of 10 thousand dollars.
"I felt like $10,000 was a reasonable beginning point. What we're hoping with the governor's reward is that it encourages others to step up and contribute money to the reward. At the end of the day, he was a member of this community
and justice needs to be done for him and this community." Weirich said.
The reward money in Lorenzen Wright’s case is still pretty less comparing to the reward that state offered for the recent disappearance of a nursing student of West Tennessee Holly Bobo and for the massacre in the Lester Street.
Deborah Marion has continued to request people to step-up and donate more reward in order to find the person who killed her son.  Despite of the fact that more than one year has passed since her son died, Deborah is determined
to fight for justice till her last breath.
“I'm going to fight until the death runs out of me,"
Memphis mayor A C Wharton said on Monday that Deborah is not giving up on the case of his son’s homicide and neither are they. He assured his full support to the family of former Memphis Grizzlies superstar.
On 18 July 2010, Lorenzen Wright left the house of his ex-wife Sherra Robinson in Collierville, Tennessee and was never seen or heard again. Wright’s family filed a missing report four days after his disappearance. On 28th
July, Lorenzen was found dead and the case is still being investigated as homicide.
It was reported that 911 received a call from Wright’s cell phone early in the morning on 19th July. The caller was speaking when the gun shots rang out and the call was disconnected. Lorenzen’s ex-wife and her parents
filed a lawsuit charging that the 911 call was mishandled.
