Rewarded to be gifted in the Blue Square London Gold Cup (Handicap) at Newbury
The Class 2 Blue Square London Gold Cup (Handicap) has been able to attract an exceptionally talented line-up of fourteen three-year-old runners. The race will be hosted by Newbury over a mile, two furlongs and six yards on Saturday, 19th May.
The prize money for the winner has been set at £15,563.
Expense Claim and Hajras have been successful in the last two starts while Almuftarris, Icelander and Hurricane In Dubai have bagged their very recent race. Rewarded however has put up a hat trick on his profile through the last three races.
Rewarded, Motivator’s three-year-old bay colt out of mare, Granted, has raced four times throughout the career and out of those he has won last three in a row.
None of those were at Newbury.
He was the 3/1 favourite winner of the British Stallion Studs EBF Maiden Stakes on 25th October, 2011 at Yarmouth over seven furlongs. He led the runner up, Flaxen Flare, by 1 ¼ lengths.
Concluding the race third was Qaadira.
This race was his final outing of the 2011 season.
His 2012 seasonal debut was in the Casino At Bet365.Com Conditions Stakes on 27th April at Sandown over a mile. Rewarded was the only runner and was paired up with Kirsty Milczarek.
His most recent race and success was in the Qipco Supports Racing Welfare Handicap on 5th May at Newmarket over a mile. Rewarded was the 100/30 favourite winner of the race with Kirsty Milczarek.
Finishing the closest to the winner was Archbishop and ending third in line was Frog Hollow.
A threatening entry to look out for is Hajras, Dubai Destinations’ three-year-old bay colt out of mare, Nufoos. He is unbeaten in the two career starts.
He won the Horse And Sports Tips @ Relayman.Com Median Auction Maiden Stakes on 17th March at Wolverhampton over a mile and half furlong. The 4/9 favourite winner led the track of eight by 2 ¼ lengths.
On 19th April, Hajras won the Ripon “c**k O’ North” Handicap at Ripon over a mile. Twice in a row he was not only the winner but the favourite winner with Dance The Rain ending the closest.
