  1. Rewinding... are we talking Holga 120 or Holga 135?

If you have a Holga 120, there is no rewinding. You just shoot and wind, and when you are done, keep winding until the film is completely on the take-up spool. Seal it and take it out to be processed. The old film spool in the left compartment becomes the new take up spool. Move it from the left side of the compartment and put it on the right.

If you have a Holga 135, then you shoot until you finish the roll, then press the button on the bottom of the camera and use the rewind crank to wind the film back into the 35mm cassette.

For more helpful hints and tips for your Holga (currently only Holga 120, but I am getting a Holga 135BC soon), check out my website:

  2. It stays on the spool.  Most Holgas I know don't rewind.  You just keep advancing the film until to fully comes off the first spool.  Then you over the film spool over when you load a new roll.
